Relae automated utility bill capture for its clients' carbon accounting
Relae, the New York carbon management company formerly called Carbon Direct, used Docsumo to read its clients' utility bills instead of keying them in by hand.
An SMB client's utility bills from two suppliers: a three-page electric bill PDF and a two-page scanned gas bill. Docsumo read electricity used of 8,352 kWh, meter reads of 31,806 to 40,158, natural gas used of 386 therms and a service period of January 4 to February 2. The usage check and Relae's rules passed, the file was ready for review, and approved data went to the client's emissions inventory by API.
